Get acquainted to workout safely

Become acquainted with our facilities. In this program, we provide basic training and information needed to use our equipment safely and effectively. Specifically for our younger members, however, any new member is welcome for an orientation.

Beaverton Hoop YMCA

Equipment Orientation

As a new member, each person 14 and older received an hour with a personal trainer to become familiar with equipment and set up their AcivTrax account. There is a registration sheet at the membership desk or you can connect directly with the Healthy Living Staff to schedule your appointment.

Clark County Family YMCA

Equipment Orientation

As a new member, each person 14 and older received an hour with a personal trainer to become familiar with equipment and set up their AcivTrax account. There is a registration sheet at the membership desk or you can connect directly with the Healthy Living Staff to schedule your appointment.

ActivTrax

Is a workout generated by a computer tailored to your individual needs and goals. The program instructs you to which machines to use, what weight to set it at, how many repetitions and even rest time between sets—similar to a personal trainer. If there are restrictions based on physical concerns those are also addressed with the assistance of Staff. Each time you complete a workout, go back to ActivTrax—either on an app or the kiosk at the Center—and input your workout results. The next time you come in for a workout, ActivTrax will generate a new workout. This dynamic tool helps you progress towards your goals!

Box Master Stations

From training for a match or boxing for total body fitness these stations are fully adaptable. Schedule a brief intro to BoxMaster with one of our certified trainers to learn how to adjust the station, proper form, and a quick run through on how to optimize your workout.

Functional Trainers

Participants gain confidence in their own abilities as they track their progress and accomplish their goals. Functional Trainers are multi-use cable stations that offer a variety of exercise options. The cable loaded weights can make your workout easier or harder as you train for movements in daily living. No experience necessary.

Hoist Motion Cage

The Hoist Motion Cage has multiple stations and functions so several individuals can use the cage at once, working out on different things. The Cage offers battle ropes, pull ups, suspension trainers or a functional trainer. A Workout of the Week gives instruction on how to enjoy a full body workout using options available with the Hoist Motion Cage.

Sherwood Regional Family YMCA

KICKSTART

KICKSTART is an opportunity to become comfortable in your YMCA by meeting with a fitness professional. Your goals and needs will be assessed to support your path to a healthy lifestyle.

Your complimentary KICKSTART program is up to three individualized appointments with a personal trainer. The first session is primarily dynamic goal setting and identifying potential barriers along with an introduction to exercising at the YMCA-60 minutes.

The second KICKSTART appointment continues the conversation and builds onto the healthy lifestyle habits and exercise from KICKSTART 1-30 minutes.

KICKSTART three is a follow up to monitor progress, support, provide baseline assessments and offer course correction as needed-30 minutes.

At any point in the KICKSTART process the member may decide that they want to pursue other program areas such as Group Exercise or Personal Training.
