Beaverton Hoop YMCA

Hoop Skills Academy

Skills Academy is an individual focused training session in a small group setting. Players will be put through drills that help develop basketball fundamentals such as shooting, dribbling, 1 on 1 moves, attack moves, and conditioning. Skills Academy runs during our Hoop Elite teams seasons.

Summer Camps
All Ball Camp | Aug. 20–24

This is a great opportunity for children to learn and play many games and sports. Some from camps before and many new ones too. The options are endless in All Ball camp. For campers in grades 3–5.

Basketball Camps

Campers will have fun working on ball handling, footwork, shooting techniques, and conditioning that will give young players the edge they need to succeed. Our goal is to teach and challenge our players in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment to help their confidence on and off the court. 

Dodgeball Camps

Campers will work on throwing, catching and ball shielding skills in addition to dodging skills. Engaging in many variations this individual and team activity is one of the most crowd-pleasing games of Summer Camp.

Dance Camps

Campers will focus on different forms of dance including pop and hip hop routines. The week will finish with a performance for friends and family. YMCA Specialty Camps Philosophy is to use sports as a tool to develop each participant physically, mentally and spiritually. 

Floor Hockey Camp | July 30–Aug. 3

Floor Hockey YMCA Floor Hockey will teach children all the basics of Floor Hockey. Children will be taught drills and play games. The children will be using sticks, balls and pucks. YMCA Specialty Camps Philosophy is to use camps as a tool to develop each participant physically, mentally and spiritually. YMCA Floor Hockey teaches: Stick handling, rules, games, passing, teamwork, fun, shooting, positions and so much more.For campers in Grades 3–5.

Gamesapooloza Camps

In this camp kids will engage in team bonding games and activities. Making of camp flags, bandanas, camp songs, handshakes and much more, kids in this camp will have a blast learning new and crazy games they will hold on to for life.

Gymnastics Camps

While making new friends, exploring creativity and developing new talents through a wide range of fun and enriching activities. The week will finish with a floor performance for friends and family with the newly learned or enhanced skills.

Racket Sports Camp | Aug. 13–17

Racket sports are fast paced, competitive and fun. This camp offers a great workout, as it keeps players constantly moving, running and swinging. This camp helps participants speed, agility and hand-eye coordination—skills that are beneficial for all kinds of sports. Racket sports will include pickleball, badminton, tennis and racquetball. For children in grades 3–5.

Rockwall Camps

Campers learn how to stay safe while climbing, how to put their harness on, tie knots, what the equipment is called and the proper uses for each piece. Building their individual strength and learning how to conquer challenges.

Soccer Camp | July 16–20

Soccer Camp is an opportunity for players to work on the fundamentals of soccer. Our caring and knowledgeable instructors will teach players the basic skills of soccer through exciting and fun drills and games. All ability and skill levels welcome.

Westside YMCA is excited to present our specialized camps for the summer season. Camps are held at various locations throughout Beaverton and Tualatin. We offer different camps each week, so there is something for all to enjoy!

Basketball Camps

Basketball Training Camp | June 20–22

This 3 day camp will be a mixture of drills and games to foster our love of basketball. Campers will work on some of the game’s fundamentals while having fun with new friends. Please bring a lunch, snack and water bottle for your camper. For children in grades 2–5. Camp is held at the Beaverton Hoop YMCA and runs from 9 AM–3 PM.

This 2 day camp will work on basketball conditioning through a mixture of skills, drills and scrimmages. Campers will fine-tune their skills in a fun environment. This 2 day camp will work on soccer conditioning through a mixture of skills, drills and scrimmages. This camp will be an indoor soccer focus with some outdoor time as well. Y World of Sports | July 9–13

Campers will enjoy a wide variety of outdoor sports in this camp (Kickball, Flag Football, Handball, etc.). We will switch games throughout each day and diversify our sporting palate. Please bring a lunch, snack and water bottle for your camper. For children in grades 2–5. Camp will be off site in the Beaverton area and runs from 9 AM–3 PM.

This soccer-based camp will be a fun week of learning and games. Campers will enjoy playing soccer outdoors with plenty of goals to go around. LEGO Adventures

This is a great introduction to engineering. By using the Legos to build cars, cranes, windmills and more students will gain knowledge in creating something from scratch. Throughout the course students will work together to complete a "mission" instructions as well as create their own designs. Please bring a lunch, snack and water bottle for your camper.

Computer Coding

This camp will introduce students to the language of computer coding. Kids will see how computer coding is the backbone of video games and animation. As children work their way through each assignment they will gain the knowledge needed to build their own video games. Fun with Art
