YMCA Camp Collins History
YMCA Camp Collins was founded in 1926 as a summer camp for inner‑city boys from Portland. Located along the Sandy River near Gresham, the camp focused on overnight outdoor experiences rooted in shared responsibility and character development.
Over time, Camp Collins expanded into a year‑round site offering overnight and day camps, teen leadership programs, family camps, retreats, and conferences. Since 2018, the camp has been a host location for Outdoor School programs run by partner organizations. Today, Camp Collins serves thousands each year on its 130‑acre campus.
