Developmental League

Join us this Spring season in our Developmental Basketball League; a combination of our popular Recreational and Competitive League designed for Grade 5 through Grade 8. The league will have two one-hour practices a week, and one game each Saturday with a season-ending tournament. This program provides the fun and team comradery of a recreational league with the added focus on skill development run by YMCA staff. This program is recommended for Intermediate/advanced Players.

Practices

  • Team placement skill assessment will be week of April 2
  • Practices begin the week of April 9 
  • No spectating at practices
  • All practices will be at the Beaverton Family YMCA

Open Door (Access for All)

We believe every child deserves a chance to participate in our programs through our Open Door program, financial assistance is available to both members and non-members. Open Door requests are processed on an ongoing basis.

Cancellation/Withdraw Information

You may cancel your registration for full credit if the request is received in writing (via email/mail) two weeks before the start date of the program. Cancellations made within the two-week window will be subject to a 20% cancellation fee with the remaining funds placed as a credit on your account that can be applied to any future YMCA program. All program-specific supply fees are fully non-refundable. No refunds or credits will be provided after the start date of the program.

Age Divisions
Grade 5–6 Boys
  • Grade 5–6 boys have two 60-minute weeknight practices for the duration of the season plus one tournament.
  • Weeknight practices are held on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday evenings at 6 PM.
  • Weeknight practices and games days will be at the Beaverton Family YMCA
  • Grade 5–6 game scores will be kept
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own basketball to practices/games. Please make sure the child's name is on the ball.
  • Teammate requests are accepted with online registration only. We try our best to accommodate all player requests, but we cannot guarantee every request will be made. 
  • Once rosters and schedules have been published no additional changes may occur.
  • Hoop Height: 10 ft. | Suggested Ball Size: 28.5”.
  • Certified referees are provided for Grade 5–6 games.
  • Teams will receive a reversible team jersey.

Grade 7–8 Boys
