At YMCA Camps, kids make new friends, accomplish goals, learn new skills, and experience belonging in a way that only the Y can provide. Every new camp experience comes with a chance to learn and grow. At the Y, we strive to give every child and teen the opportunity to test their own limits and explore their potential.
Our day camps are available for full-day child care at locations throughout the Portland and Vancouver Metro Area. We also offer Day Camps at Oxbow Park's beautiful Camp Collins location. Each week has an engaging theme that allows youth to explore, create and play. Curriculum activities will focus on STEM, physical activity, arts and crafts, group games, and other enriching social development activities.
These camps are specialized to allow children to deepen their knowledge and experience in subject areas of their choice. Each week has a different focused curriculum, intentionally designed to help students explore areas of interest, build basic skills, and take their learning to the next step. Each day, students would participate in skill building activities, focused on peer cooperation, creative thinking, and hands on learning.
Our Jr. Camps are also available at our Sherwood Regional YMCA and Clark County YMCA. These camps are structured the same as specialty camps, but offer shorter days and age appropriate curriculum perfect for our younger campers.
These camps offer your child the perfect opportunity to be active, have fun and be social. Try a new sport or hone your skills in one you love, be it basketball, soccer, volleyball, fitness or dance.
Learn the skills necessary to be a counselor. The CIT program offers teens the opportunity to develop leadership and program skills that will hopefully lead to a counselor position in the future. The focus is on small group dynamics, communication skills, teamwork and values clarification. CITs help to organize games and activities with the campers and assist the counselors with daily responsibilities.
