Belonging Through Your Support
This campaign highlights real stories (like the one below) from our YMCA community where moments of growth, courage, and joy are made possible by donors like you.
Teaching a Lifesaving Skill — and Building Confidence in the Water
When a group of kids from Open House Ministries arrived at the Clark County Family YMCA, many had never set foot in a pool before. Some clung to the edge, nervous to let go, while others hesitated to even dip a toe in the water. But with patient instructors and the encouragement of new friends, those fears slowly gave way to laughter, splashes, and proud smiles.
By the end of four days, every child had gained more than swimming skills; they walked away with courage, confidence, and a memory that will last a lifetime. And for some, that new skill could one day mean the difference between safety and tragedy.
Moments like this are only possible because of you. Your support doesn’t just provide lessons—it opens doors to life-changing experiences for kids who need them most.
