Become a Coach. Become a Mentor.
As a volunteer based organization, volunteers are key to the success of our youth sports leagues. We continually look for passionate individuals who are positive role models to coach kids for both indoor soccer and youth basketball. As a Y Coach or Assistant Coach, your time and talents go a long way. You will have a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the kids you work with, developing skills on and off the court. You are teaching more than the fundamentals of the sport. You actively demonstrate our five core values of love, respect, honesty, responsibility and service. No experience necessary. If you’ve never coached a team before we have practice plans, drill ideas and team resource materials you can use. We require all volunteer head coaches to register online—there are no fees associated. Each coach will complete the appropriate paperwork, attend the Mandatory Coaches Meeting held prior to each season and as Y policy, all volunteers are subject to a criminal background check. Contact us if you have any questions about coaching next season.
Mandatory coaches meetings are held prior to the start of each season. In these meetings, we cover required paperwork from parents, uniforms, team and individual pictures, as well as important dates to know for the season. We also collect coach information on their requested practice time and location. This is a great time for us to meet all of the people willing to volunteer during the season.
