Play with The Y and experience why 90% of players want to play with Westside YMCA again. Over the course of four seasons (Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer), Westside YMCA Recreational Basketball Leagues serve over 2,000 families throughout the Westside of the Portland-Metropolitan area. Our league is designed to give players of all skill levels the opportunity to succeed on the court and to build relationships with their coach and teammates off it. Members, non-members, experienced players or first-timers, anyone can hoop!

Dear Valued Participants,
 
It's been a challenging few weeks for everyone, especially those who are here to serve the community, like the YMCA. As we've noted previously, this situation is fluid and as more and more information becomes available each day, it allows us to re-evaluate our decisions. Given the updated guidelines & information regarding COVID-19, and with the statement from the Governor of Oregon, Kate Brown today, we have made the following adjustments to our spring programming to comply with the order and other additional information.

Spring League Start | Fri., May 1

Spring League End | Sat., June 6
 

Mini Dibblers & Mini Kickers | May 2–30 | 60 minute practice/game each Saturday
 
Kindy–Grade 2 Teams | May 2–June 6 | 90 minute practice/game each Saturday
 
Grade 3-5 Teams | 1 weekly practice (primarily Fridays, 60 min) | Game on Saturdays (60 min)
 
•    All games and practices will be held at The Beaverton Hoop YMCA or nearby court location
•    Rosters and game/practice schedules will communicated out via Playerspace no later than April 15, 2020
•    There will be no picture days scheduled with Northwest Sports Photography for any teams
•    Game shirts will be delivered to Volunteer Coaches the first week of games
 
We strongly believe that pushing the schedule back to late April & early May start dates is the best option to allow programming for the kids to happen this spring, which we feel is important to help everyone through this crisis. We also understand that the situation is fluid, and if additional information is released that makes this schedule untenable, we will be sure to be in contact with you regarding any potential adjustments or changes.

Pre-K (3 and 4 Year Old)

  • Pre-K teams are coed.
  • First two Saturdays are just practice. Practice/game Saturdays follow. 
  • Once games start, teams will split time for a practice and a game.
  • Pre-K teams | 60 min. 
  • Hoop Height: 6 ft | Suggested Ball Size 3 (Mini).
  • Volunteer Coaches are needed for teams. 
  • Teammate or coach requests accepted with online registration only.
  • Participants will receive a team shirt.

Kindergarten–Grade 1

  • Teammate or coach requests accepted with online registration only.

  • Volunteer Coaches serve as referees for Grade 2 games. Certified referees are provided for Grades 3 games.

  • Score will be kept for games. No standings will be kept for seasons.

Game/Practice Region Information

Westside YMCA practices and games take place primarily in select Beaverton School District Elementary Schools as well as the Beaverton Hoop YMCA. Please refer to the Registration Boundary Map below to choose the closest 'Region' to you if you do not attend Beaverton Elementary School.
*Please note, we do not have access to every BSD Elementary School. We use 'Region' information to be as accommodating as possible when building schedules.

Withdraw Policy

Withdraw Policy
All withdraw/refund requests must be sent to westside@ymcacw.org. A fee of 20% of the registration cost will be applied to all granted withdraw requests. These requests must be made prior to the start of any Westside YMCA Youth Sports Program. No refunds will be granted after the start date of the program.
