Exploring New Horizons
At Y Specialty Camps, kids make new friends, accomplish goals, learn new skills, and experience belonging in a way that only the Y can provide. Every new camp experience comes with a chance to learn and grow. At the Y, we strive to give every child and teen the opportunity to test their own limits and explore their potential. The YMCA is offering camps for Jr. Campers and Day Campers. These camps are designed to inspire minds, spark creativity and build connections.
Camp Offerings
Summer Specialty Camps | 6–12 years old
These Day Camps take place at Sherwood YMCA and are a wonderful time to fill the Summer with excitement. Day Camps run 8:30 AM–2:30 PM Monday–Friday. Themes change each week and may encompass, Outdoor STEM, Y-Chef Minecraft, Stop Motion Star Wars, Basketball, Ultimate Sports, and more.

YMCA Specialty Camps Philosophy is to use camps as a tool to develop each participant physically, mentally and spiritually. Emphasis is on teaching the values of good sportsmanship, teamwork, goal setting and skill development in a fun, esteem-promoting atmosphere. Bring a snack, lunch and water.
School Site Day Camps | 5–12 years old
These School Site Day Camps will take place at Templeton Elementary and Metzger Elementary this year. These are licensed programs that are led by highly trained and knowledgeable staff that are ready to provide children with a safe, fun, and enriching summer camp experience! In these licensed programs ERDC payments are able to be used.
School Break Camps | 6–12 years

Spring Break Camp is available for students age 5–12. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM–5 PM. Our curriculum includes STEM activities, arts and crafts, outdoor exploration, group activities and focuses on enriching social development. This camp is licensed by the State of Oregon.

This is a licensed program that will engage your child and expand the limits of their imagination. At summer day camp, every day is an opportunity for campers to make new friends and experience endless possibilities for learning and fun.
Work at Summer Camp
YMCA Summer Camps are seeking responsible and caring leaders who live enthusiastically and care deeply about others. We are looking for staff with the ability to communicate honestly and openly, to stay positive when challenged, to problem-solve creatively, and to participate energetically.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH OPEN DOOR
We believe every child deserves a chance to participate in our programs through our Open Door program, financial assistance is available to both members and non-members. Open Door requests are processed on an ongoing basis.
