Lifeguard Review Course
For lifeguards who hold a current American Red Cross certification. Successful completion extends ARC Lifeguard certification for two years.
Participants must present their valid certification at the beginning of the class.
Successful completion of the course extends current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification for two years. Participants must present a valid Red Cross Lifeguard certification and bring a copy of their Lifeguard Participant Manual.
Lifeguard Training Course
Build aquatic rescue and teamwork skills as you work toward a professional certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR, First-Aid and AED.
Learn and practice rescue skills, injury prevention and teamwork. Earn a nationally recognized lifeguard certification and become eligible to apply for a job as a lifeguard. One hundred percent attendance is required. Must be able to swim 300 yards and reach a minimum depth of 7 feet. For participants ages 15 and older.
Upon successful completion of the class, participants will become lifeguards by gaining necessary skills needed to recognize, prevent, and respond to aquatic emergencies. Participants will receive a two-year Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certification through the American Red Cross.
Junior Lifeguard Class
Learn how to keep people safe. Learn about a lifeguard’s responsibility, practice stroke improvement and basic water rescue techniques as well as CPR and first-aid. Shadow our YMCA lifeguards and help them serve our aquatic community! For participants ages 10 and older.

Work at the Y
Once you have completed your lifeguard training, you can apply to work as a lifeguard. We have aquatics positions open throughout the year that you can put your skills to the test. Learn more about working at the Y and the benefits of joining our team.
