Keeping Our Future Healthy
YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day® will include fun active play and educational activities to keep kids moving and learning, in order to maintain healthy habits and academic skills to achieve goals and reach their full potential. For over 25 years, Healthy Kids Day® has celebrated kids’ health. It continues to teach healthy habits for kids and families encourage active play and inspire a lifetime love of physical activity.
Every spring the YMCA promotes the importance of healthy eating and physical activity by celebrating Healthy Kids Day®. From healthy snacks to activities focused on wellness this is our annual summer kick off.
When kids are out of school, they can face hurdles that prevent them from reaching their full potential. As a leading nonprofit committed to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y is addressing critical gaps in kids’ health and education. Healthy Kids Day® gives children the starting point to develop healthy skills for not only the summer but their lives.
At our school sites, child development centers and two facilities participate in healthful activities during the day to highlight Healthy Kids Day®. In addition, our YMCA families have an opportunity to pick up healthy snacks, recipes and giveaways to foster healthy lifestyles.
Healthy Lifestyles for Kids
At the YMCA we focus on building Healthy Lifestyles for children year-round. When children make good choices they are more likely to make Healthy Choices as adults. Learn more about the USDA Food Program Guidelines.
