Expanding Our Impact
For 100 years the YMCA of Columbia-Willamette has been a leader in providing overnight camp experiences for youth in our community. While much has changed over the years, the mission and impact remain the same, which is to develop the spirit, mind and body of every camper. In 2016, our YMCA expanded our footprint and established YMCA Camp Duncan’s Woods, a new high-adventure overnight camp for at-risk youth.
YMCA Camp Duncan’s Woods is uniquely situated on 160 acres in the Mt. Hood National Forest. With a vision to serve at least 50 percent of the camper population from at-risk or fragile backgrounds, this new camp will enable the Y to provide positive life-impacting experiences and development of new skills in a safe and welcoming outdoor space. The camp’s location allows us to provide high adventure wilderness camping where campers experience activities such as swimming, kayaking, challenge courses, backpacking, hiking, fishing, environmental habitat education and so much more.
We invite you to partner with us financially and by donating your time to bring a unique YMCA camp experience to high-risk youth.
Capital Campaign Goal
To put the Christian principles of love, respect, honesty, responsibility and service into practice though programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
