Roger Button is the Chaplain at the Clark County Family YMCA. And for more than 10 years, he has helped individuals and families in our community grow in spirit, mind and body. Though Roger never envisioned a life of ministry for himself, it was advice from a friend some years ago that eventually helped him recognize his calling to support and heal those in need.
As the Chaplain at the Clark County Family YMCA, Roger most enjoys connecting with new people and learning their stories.
“At the Y, we’re non-judgmental and we’re here for everyone.”
By providing individuals in the community with support, mentorship and friendship, Roger has helped others realize their full potential and what they can achieve.
“That’s just what we do here. We give hope to the hopeless, and heal the broken.
Roger said he is most thankful for the hard-working staff at the Clark County Family YMCA, who he often refers to as the “Transformation Team,”—acknowledging their dedication to making a difference in the lives of community members on a daily basis.
“We have a lot of things happening here at the Y, but ultimately we’re in the business of transforming lives.”
Roger hopes more individuals will open themselves to the Y in the future and discover the wide range of services we offer to people of all ages.
Thank you Roger for helping others see the work and love of God in their everyday lives. And for upholding the Christian mission in our Y. We are grateful for your commitment and willingness to serve others.
