Brandon Marks

You can find Brandon in most areas of the Clark County Family YMCA—serving where there is a need. Teaching children in Y Time, coaching on the basketball court or helping at the membership desk. No matter the time, Brandon is always willing to lend a helping hand to whomever needs it.

Brandon joined our Y family in May of 2017 as a Clark Elite basketball coach. Though Brandon had held other jobs before, he felt the experience at the Y was completely new. He was able to join a dedicated team of coaches who quickly became his friends, and was welcomed by Y members who treated him like family.

“I have coworkers who are friends. We build lasting friendships while we work."

Brandon is thankful the Y is accommodating to his busy schedule, and feels valued as an employee knowing the Y cares about his education, as he works to finish up his senior year in high school.

“They give me great hours, and let me finish my school day before I have to work.”

More often than not, you can find Brandon on the basketball court, playing a pick-up game with friends, practicing for his own Clark Elite season or teaching four and five year olds how to play basketball. Brandon is now coaching in his fourth season at the Y, and most enjoys watching the youth he works with reach their full potential.

“I like seeing how the kids improve over the season and change as players.”

Brandon said he experiences the welcoming family atmosphere of the Y daily. And especially enjoys making connections with the youth, and their families, he coaches. He hopes to continue his love for basketball after he graduates, with plans of even becoming a coach someday.

Brandon plans to continue his involvement with the Y as he grows and is encouraged by the lasting culture of the Y.

“Watching a lot of families and members come in and experience the Y is really cool.”

Thank you Brandon for being a great addition to our Y staff and community. We enjoy your positivity and willingness to step in when you see a need.
